Dr. Andrea Giovannucci receives UNC Undergraduate Teaching Award

At this year’s UNC Chancellor’s Awards Ceremony, BME Assistant Professor Andrea Giovannucci received the Student Undergraduate Teaching Award for his time and effort to improve UNC undergraduate students’ education. The Student Undergraduate Teaching and Staff Awards (SUTASA) were established in 1989 to recognize outstanding undergraduate instruction by both faculty and teaching assistants. SUTASA are the only teaching and staff awards funded, nominated, and selected entirely by undergraduate students. The committee comprised of students reviews the teaching nominations based on demonstrated and consistent teaching excellence, success in positively affecting a broad spectrum of students both in and outside the classroom, and the creation of a dynamic learning environment.
